What We Believe
We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible,
authoritative word of God, inerrant in its original manuscripts.
(2 Peter 1:18-21; 2 Timothy 3:16, 17)
We believe there is one God, eternally existent in three persons:
Father, Son and Holy Spirit (Deuteronomy 6:4; 2 Corinthians 13:14;
2 Corinthians 1:3; John 20:28; Acts 5:3,4)
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin
birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious
and atoning death through His shed blood, in is bodily resurrection,
in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His
personal return in power and glory. (John 1:14; Philippians 2:6,
7: 1 John 2:2; Romans 3:26, 27; Matthew 28:1-7; Acts 1:9-11)
We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful man, regeneration
by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential. Personal faith, which
involves repentance, is the condition of salvation. (Romans 3:23;
John 3:3; Titus 3:4-7; Acts 17:30; Luke 13:5; John 3:36; Ephesians
2:8-10)
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose
indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life. We
are baptized by the Holy Spirit when we are born again. (John
16:13; 1 Corinthians 6:11; 1 Peter 3:18; Titus 3:4-7; Galatians
5:16-18)
We believe that baptism by immersion is a testimony of the person
who has already been born again. (Matthew 28:19; Colossians 2:12;
Romans 6:4)
We believe that the Lord's Supper is a celebration of the death
of Christ for atonement of sins. It is a practice for those who
are born again. (1 Corinthians 11:23-26; 1 Corinthians 10:16,
17)
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost;
they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that
are lost unto the resurrection of damnation. (Hebrews 9:27; 1
Thessalonians 4:13-18; John 5:28, 29; 1 Corinthians 15:22, 23,
35-44)
We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus
Christ. (Ephesians 4:1-6; 1 Corinthians 12:12-14; John 17:20-23)
Doctrinal Distinctives
It is God's will for all men to be saved and God extends His
grace to all, but men have the freedom to resist and reject
the grace of God. (free will)
God pronounces the believing sinner just because he has been
imputed with the righteousness of Christ, which is his, through
faith. (satisfaction view of atonement)
It is possible for a believer to cease to believe in Jesus Christ
and hence to fall away from grace and forfeit his salvation,
without remedy. (perseverance of the saints)
The Lord's Supper is the privilege and duty of all who have
spiritual union with Christ to commemorate His death and no man
has the right to forbid this celebration to other believers.
